This track is from the very first studio album, titled 'Casting Crowns'. This song is contraversial amongst fans of Casting Crowns music because it is not directly based on a specific verse from scripture. If you examine the rest of this Casting Crowns music, especially on this album, you will find that they are based on specific verses from the Bible.

But that should not detract from this track. It is a soft and gentle reminder of the Fathers Love. Of all the Casting Crowns music that I have heard, this is my favourite.

Casting Crowns use their music to speak the Fathers love into the lives of the people who listen. This track is a pefect example.

What If His People Prayed is one of the greatest Casting Crowns tracks so far! It is a stron opening tracks for their fist major studio release 'Casting Crowns' and is a modern Christian Rock classic.

The lyrics are based on scripture: 2 Cron 7:14 - 'if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land'

This track is a real challenge to all who hear it. What would happen if Gods people actually prayed.... of course the answer is within the scripture.

The music is upbeat and on the more rock side of Casting Crowns music, but I like it. It makes this track punchy - and these lyrics needed to be put out there punchy!

Casting Crowns are never frightened to get in peoples faces about their faith, and this song is an excellent example.

The Alter and the Door is the third full studio album from Casting Crowns. Once again the Christian band manage to fuse together soft rock with Christian teaching, preaching, faith motivation and encouragement.

With every band, the questions start to be asked 'is their best work behind them?'.  Opinion seems very much universal - NO! This album is punchy and energetic. It screams with passion and enthusiasm. It is challenging yet heart warming.

The opening track 'What this world needs' has to rank up there with Casting Crowns greatest tracks of all time.

There is no gettting away from the fact that this band are getting better with age.

The commitment they show to their faith is unquestionable: they certainly are no 'one hit wonder with an axe to grind'!

Miss this album at your peril!

This was the first major release from the band. The songs are powerful and challenging for the believer to hear. Most notably is 'If we are the body' which is a challenge for the church to be all that it is called to be. Each song packs a punch, some more than others. Opinion is divided but the classic tracks are generally considered to be:

'What if His People Prayed'

'If we are the body?'

'The Voice of Truth'

'Your love is extravagent'

All of the tracks on this album are directly based on verses of scripture, with the exception of 'Your love is extravagent', which has no direct root in scripture, although still encapsulating facets of the Christian faith.

This album is a wake up call for the church to be all that it was made to be. It is worship and teaching and motivation all in one. This is a must have for all Christians.
